John McCourt JP
Founding Director
A former RSLWA Chief Executive Officer, John McCourt’s military service included deployments to Iraq, Afghanistan and East Timor, where he served with the International Stabilisation Force. Other positions included OIC of the Air Force Public Affairs Reserve Specialist capability; Commander of the Joint Information Bureau for the search for Malaysian Airlines MH370; Staff Officer, Headquarters Joint Operations Command and communications adviser for the visit to Darwin by US President, Barack Obama.
John began his professional career as a print and television journalist in Perth and regional WA and a short stint as a correspondent in Washington DC. He has a Master of Business Administration and recently completed a Certificate in Cybersecurity through Harvard University.
Founding McCourt & Associates in 1997, John has forged professional relationships across the business, government, media and not-for-profit sectors at Local, State and Federal levels.
John is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management (WA), Fellow of the Australian Marketing Institute (Certified Practicing Marketer status) and Member of the Australian Information Security Association.
John is a proud Life Member of Surf Lifesaving WA, a former Australia Surf Lifesaver of the Year and is a practicing Justice of the Peace.
